Forgiveness is a common knowledge and virtue that is inculcated into most people from infancy. But this virtue is hardly expressed in relationships. It is either overlooked or not remembered at all when it comes to relationship related issues. WHY?
Most people, if not all, establish their relationship with deep feelings(emotions), and when the emotion takes over their judgement and thought, it becomes obviously difficult to forgive. It is not their doing but it is a behavior that must be worked on. Emotion in relationship is good but must not take over our sense of judgement and our thinking ability.
No one is perfect so in any relationship, you should be expecting some flaws or you should expect your partner to offend you, but your ability to FORGIVE him/her and move on is what makes the relationship desiring. Don’t have boundaries to the number of times you forgive your partner, never count the number of times you forgive your partner, never recall whatever you forgave.
Trust me, this is difficult but LOVE makes everything impossible, possible. There will be a situation where your partner will go cheating on you, a situation where your partner don’t believe your innocence, a situation where your partner will deeply offend you but you must forgive and forget. Mind you, before you forgive any wrong, make your partner aware that you were not happy with what he/she did. Otherwise, he/she will be repeating the same wrong unknowingly.
Note that, there is nothing unforgivable on earth. Always keep in mind that to err is human to forgive is divine. Don’t let society define what you must forgive and what you must not. If you are in a relationship with purpose, you will always challenge the status quo.
